  • Q:What are the System Requirements for M.T.S.?
    A: The system is designed to work with Windows XP Professional. It will operate under Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate in the XP Compatibility mode (Virtual Machine)
    To have access to reports, MS Office is required, specifically Word and Excel. The program works on Windows 7/Vista, however it has not been extensively tested.
    For reports to work without errors, you must run program as administrator (right click MTS icon and choose run as administrator.)
  • Q: How do I get my Duplicate Information into the program?
    A: For a nominal fee, we can load your data that is provided by your County in electronic format.Of course you can manually add these records yourself.
  • Q: Do I have to pay $1250.00 each year for the program?
    A: No, the software cost is a one time payment. If you want to get a newer version later, you will pay based on the cost of that version, however you don't have to upgrade. Of course if you have our maintenance plan, all upgrades are free.
  • Q: Can I collect multiple parcels with one check?
    A: Yes! For the first parcel, just enter the name on the check and check #, for all other parcels paid by that check, it takes only one click to accept payment.
  • Q: Am I able to refund duplicate payments or overpayments?
    A: Yes, you can track refunds for duplicate payments or overpayments
  • Q: How do you provide support for M.T.S?
    A: Along with providing the program, we provide you with a quick support icon, which directly connects you to our office allowing our support staff to resolve your problems and questions related to our application quickly and efficiently. A working cable/dsl/fios internet connection is required for this.
  • Q: Does the program come with the scanner for barcodes?
    A: No, however we provide you with exact specifications and links to where you can purchase them.
  • Q: My county prints the bills for me will I be able to use the bar codes?
    A: You can ask your county to add the barcode version of Parcel number on their bills (That's what we did with Chester County). The bar code we use is 3 of 9 Barcode, also known as barcode 39. A copy of the TTF version can be downloaded Here.
  • Q: Does the program work without the scanner for barcodes?
    A: Yes, the program will work without the scanner, however we highly recommend to use it, as it reduces input errors and increases the collection speed exponentially.
  • Q: I downloaded the program but when I try to print a report, nothing prints out?
    A: Please make sure that you have the maintenance screen information entered for the report/bill you are trying to print and also make sure that there are actual records to be printed (for example deposit report ran for the 1st of the month will not have any data showing if deposits/collections happened on the 2nd. Expand your time span to cover a week or month for more comprehensive reports.
  • Q: I downloaded the DEMO, how do I test it?
    A: The demo comes preloaded with 300 entries for Real estate with parcel numbers starting with 990.
    The Per capita has been preloaded with 300 entries, the bill numbers will start with 2011-
  • Q: I downloaded the program, do I have to install your remote support icon?
    A: While we encourage you to install our remote support solution, you are not required to do so. It simply makes your life easier if you need support. To opt out from installation of the LogMeIn Rescue calling card, simply hit cancel when the installation wizard for the calling card shows on your screen.
  • Q: If I install your remote support connection, can you login to my computer without my knowledge or approval?
    A: No, the Calling card is not a remote access software like that. It requires You to initiate a connection to our support. Once the session is over, our technicians can not log back in to your computer until you have initiated another session.
  • Q: Does the program work without MS Office?
    A: No,at this time the program requires MS Office 2000 or higher to run its report. In the upcoming version of MTS MS office will no longer be required.
  • Q: I am using the free Open Office suite, will that work with MTS?
    A: No, unfortunately Open Office does not allow for 3rd party software to access the program functions. You will need to have MS Office installed for reports to print.
  • Q: You say the program is free, so where is the catch?
    A: The program is really free, if downloaded by 01/31/2011. In our business model, we focus on providing you the support and updates by offering you a simple yearly maintenance agreement that entitles you to unlimited technical support and free updates and upgrades to your software.
  • Q: Do I have to sign up for a maintenance plan?
    A: No, you do not have to. However should you need support, you will be charged by time for your phone call.
  • Q: Can I get technical support without your maintenance package?
    A: Yes, even without the maintenance package, we will still provide support, however it is billed at our office billing rate in 15 minutes increments.
  • Q: Can I get updates and upgrades without your maintenance package?
    A: No, at this time any and all updates, fixes and upgrades are only available to our subscribers.
  • Q: Can I load my duplicate data myself?
    A: Yes, the program (full version) allows you to import your county data. We recommend using our service, as even the smallest discrepancy in the structure or order of the import file will seriously damage your database.
  • Q: Will you load my duplicate data free?
    A: We will set you up for the 2011 tax year for free, if you downloaded our application by Jan 31st 2011. For next year (2012) we will load the duplicate at our standard rate of $250.00 with maintenance package, and $500.00 without the support package.
  • Q: Why would I want to pay for loading my data if I can do it myself?
    A: Our intimate knowledge of computers and MTS software allows us to avoid mistakes and errors. If you attempt to import data yourself and make a mistake, it could cost you years of your work. When we import data into MTS, we make sure the import file is 100% compatible with MTS, eliminating the danger of data corruption.
  • Q: If I have a maintenance plan but decide to load my data myself will my plan cover troubleshooting issues if something goes wrong with the import??
    A: No, the maintenance package does not cover issues caused by improper import unless the import was performed by our technicians. We will gladly provide help at our standard office rates.
